1.800-2.300 rpm

Emissions

IMO I, IMO II

Except for the power rating of 497 mph (490 bhp) at 2,300 rpm, which complies with IMO I emissions standards, all Cat® C12 diesel marine propulsion engines, with power ratings of 340-490 bhp (254- 366 bkW) at 1,800-2,300 rpm, meet IMO II emissions standards.

One of the main strengths of the C12 engine is its electronic unit injection fuel system, which ensures:

  1. High performance;
  2. a consumer economy;
  3. a low environmental impact.

The C12 engine is highly customizable as it provides a vast choice of equipment on demand to satisfy every request and need.

Why Choosing It

Control system III ADEM

It includes the III ADEM control system which allows:

  1. multiple control inputs and outputs
  2. capacity for additional functions
  3. additional monitoring features
  4. possibility of expansion for future upgrades

Electronic control system

The control system is electronic and very advanced. It presents:

  1. engine speed control free from regulation
  2. user-defined operating characteristics
  3. warning and protection system
  4. display systems on demand

Possibilità di potenziamenti futuri

Customization is at its maximum thanks to the control system which provides the possibility of future upgrades to guarantee a longer useful life of the engine.

Redesigned exhaust manifold

The exhaust manifold is redesigned and allows for smoother passage to facilitate the flow of exhaust gases to the turbocharger. Thanks to it there is more usable energy at lower exhaust temperatures.

Easy replacement for 3196

It is easily replaceable with the 3196 motors, boasting the same physical dimensions, the same size and the same connection points, as well as the same accessories on demand.

Monitoring System on Demand

The monitoring system is on demand, as Caterpillar offers various “plug and play” monitoring systems thanks to which it is possible to consult the parameters of the basic operation of the engine, its load factor and the totals relating to the route. You can contact us for further information on our Marine Power Display (MPD), Marine Analog Power Display (MAPD) and Engine Vision Display (EVD) systems.

Warranty and Extended Maintenance Service

For C-12 marine propulsion engines used in commercial applications the warranty provides coverage for 12 months from the date of delivery to the end user. Engines used in non-commercial recreational applications are covered for 24 months, with no limit on hours, from the date of delivery. At the same time, specific engine components are covered for 60 months, without limit of hours, from the date of delivery to the end user. You can purchase an on-demand engine protection policy for up to 60 months from the delivery date through your Cat dealer.
