Key Specifications

Power range

1340-2366 bhp (1000-1765 bkW)

Speed range

1.600-1.800 rpm

Emissions

EPA Tier 3, IMO II

Despite their large displacement, 3512C marine engines are also available in a wide range of ratings that meet EPA Marine Tier 3 and IMO II specifications without the need for additional aftertreatment.

The main advantages of these new propulsion, auxiliary and DEP engines are:

  1. variations in size and weight, which become minimal;
  2. operating and management costs are very similar.

To find out the specific fuel consumption of each rating, you can refer to the performance data. Among the new features of this model are:

  1. stainless steel exhaust heat shields;
  2. the closed crankcase ventilation system;
  3. compliance with EPA Tier 3 emissions regulations.

Advanced Features

Investment Optimization

The engine uses advanced pre-emptive modeling software that allows you to select the best nozzle configurations and ensure the best combustion cylinder geometry. Furthermore, to ensure better value for money, stainless steel heat shields have been fitted for the exhaust manifold and turbocharger, a closed crankcase ventilation system, dual camshafts, Reduced aftercooler heat load for lower requirements of the heat exchanger.

Reduction of Total Cost of Ownership

The total cost of ownership of the engine is reduced thanks to the availability of a wide range of power ratings, BSFC rated fuel consumption and the fact that no aftertreatment technology is required.

Commitment to Sustainable Development

The 3512 C engine was designed to ensure sustainable development. That’s why the shape of the piston has been changed to improve combustion and reduce emissions. While the use of the K-factor injector allows alignment with the analysis of preventive models. Crankshaft timing, which replaces camshaft timing, ensures better control of electronic injection. Finally, the model complies with EPA Marine Tier 3/IMO Tier II emissions standards and includes IMAT reduction, i.e. the reduction of nitrogen oxide.

Improved Workforce Efficiency

Electronic regulation (A4 ECU), instrument cluster supplied separately with color Marine Power Display (MPD), Cold mode start strategy, Programmable idle, Programmable marine alarm and protection system.

Fully Integrated Marine Power Solution

Single-source support, Caterpillar warranty on all factory-packaged components, industry-leading one-year parts warranty.
